Water Is Life

Water covers three-forth of the surface of the earth. Yet only 1% of it is usable. Approximately 97% of the water is salty sea water and 2% of it is frozen in the form of glaciers and ice caps. This makes that 1% a precious commodity that is necessary for our survival. A man dies faster without water than without food. Thus it is duty of every individual to save water and prevent its wastage. Running taps, flowing tanks etc, should be avoided. Save water for next generation.

Facts About Recycling

  • Glass is 100% recyclable and can be used more than once.
  • Aluminium cans if recycled can be ready to use in just 6 weeks.
  • It takes 24 trees to make 1 ton of newspaper.
  • Approximately 50% of waste in the average dustbin could be composted.
  • Plastic could take up to 500 years to decompose.
  • The energy we save by recycling one glass bottle is enough to light a light bulb for four hours.
  • Plastic bags and other plastic garbage thrown into the ocean kill as many as 1,000,000 sea creatures a year.
  • Every ton of paper that is recycled saves 17 trees.
Recycling prevents habitat destruction, and saves our atmosphere with many other hazards.

What We Do Effects Them

Earth is the only planet that supports life at the moment. The beauty of this planet is enhanced by forests, oceans, deserts, mountains, lakes, ponds, tropical rainforests etc. But humans are destroying the delicacy and slenderness of these beautiful elements. We are cutting down the forests, building cities on every dry piece of land, spilling oils in the oceans etc. In this way we are also destroying the habitant of many of the tiny creatures that have found shelter in such places.

Earth Is Beautiful.....Think About It.

Endangered Sea Life

According to a study, the tropical reefs of the world are at a risk of being destroyed till the end of the century because of the rising ratio of acid in oceans. This is due to increase in the man-made carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The carbon dioxide in air dissolves in the sea water and forms carbonic acid. This disturbs the ability of coral organisms to make their calcium carbonate shells which form coral reefs.
People themselves are imposing threat to these fragile reefs. Tourists collect coral reefs as souvenirs by either directly breaking a piece or buying it in a tourist shop. Sewage, fertilizers and pesticides often run down into the sea. As coral reefs are close to the shore, they are exposed to these polluted materials.

Oil Spills Do Deep Damage

Oil spill is an accidental petroleum release into the atmosphere. On land, it is usually localized and its impact can be controlled easily. But in sea, its effects are very dangerous and it can result in serious water pollution. Source of oil spill are mainly the transportation of oil through sea route.
This sort of accidents can prove fatal for marine life as many of the fish dies due to polluted water.

Maldives Is Drowning

Maldives is one meter or less above the sea level, which makes it the lowest country of the world. Rising sea level and green house emission can displace the land. But Maldives isn't the first one to be displaced from its place. Many of the residents of Bangladesh's Bhola Island lost their homes due to rising sea level. In 2005, the 1600 residents of Papua New Guinea Carteret Island began to evacuate because of the same reason. Muhammad Nasheed, president of Maldives, is taking necessary steps to tackle this situation. he is looking for the land in India or Srilanka as the customs and traditions of the nations are quite similar. He is also considering Australia which have some spare land.

What We Do Effects Them

What We Do Effects Them

We share this homeland with many of the other living beings. But as our activities are most advanced n progressive, it is effecting the environment more seriously and rapidly. We share our surroundings with animals but it looks like we have thrown them out of their share of lands. Humans have marched into forests, deserts and seas, threatening the life of animals. Many of them have reached to the point of extinction.

We should stop this cruel behavior towards animals and give them enough space to live in their own natural habitant.

Save Mother Nature.

Oceans cover about 70% of earth's surface. There lives a variety of beautiful creatures underneath this water. Many of the sea creatures are still undiscovered. Human activities in oceans is implying danger to marine life. If we do not cut down our interference in oceans, these poor creatures will disappear one day.....!

Save Earth

Save Earth

Earth is a beautiful gift of God Almighty. He has created endless beauties n charm. But unfortunately some of the human activities are destroying the exquisiteness and splendor of planet earth. These activities include burning on massive scale, cutting down of forests, pollution created by vehicles and factories etc. Our planet is already facing problem due to global warming, overpopulation, excessive use of finite resources and other serious environmental changes, so in order to preserve some of the resources for future use, we must save it today. We should try to recycle as much as we can do. We should keep our environment clean so it should remain healthy.
Earth day should not be celebrated only one day or one week, rather it should be celebrated all the year wholeheartedly. We should acknowledge that it is the right of mother nature to be preserved, cared, and loved. We should try to keep our surroundings clean as much as possible in order to make earth a place worth living.

History Of Global Warming

It was not until the 20th century that the scientists discovered the climatic changes. People long expected that human activity would bring the climatic changes e.g. cutting down the forests, disposing waste in the rivers and lakes, burning processes in huge industries etc. All these had damaged the ozone layer and thus resulted in global warming.
In late 20th century United States, North Atlantic and other regions began to warm. At first the process was at lower pace but then, with rapid industrialization and cutting down of forest, this process accelerated. Now it has reached up to an alarming level which involves the risk of catastrophe and devastation.

Introduction to Global Warming

Global Warming
Global Warming is a serious issue which has hit all over the world. It is a continuous rise in the temperature of the surface of earth and its oceans. This rise in relative temperature is resulting in the melt down of the glaciers. The biggest reason behind global warming is the excess diffusion of Carbon Dioxide in atmosphere. Every time when something is burnt, carbon dioxide is transmitted in the air in huge amounts. This directly affects the Ozone layer, which is the protective sheet of the earth. The ozone layer had become weak and frail, which is now unable to protect the earth from the hazardous and unsafe rays coming from the sun. Thin layer of ozone is unable to prevent from the Ultraviolet rays of the sun. Thus the relative temperature of earth had risen to an alarming level. This change in temperature had occurred all over the globe. Its harmful effects are expected to be the strongest in the Arctic, with melt down of glaciers at a very high rate as well as the poor regions like Africa have greater chances of being affected.

Global Warming

Global warming is a continuous rise in the temperature of earth's near surface.Sea levels rise due to increasing global warming and have a destructive effect on the ozone layer.
